Since Thanksgiving, we’ve received dozens and dozens of emails from companies just like ours with special offers, seasonal promotions, giveaways and coupons. Of course, we love sales, and we’ll be having a few our own in the next few days/weeks, but this holiday season, instead of the traditional “buy some nifty stuff” sales pitch, we’d rather help promote some of our favorite companies and causes. It may not be obvious from the look on Jake’s face (he’s a little camera shy … and awkward), but we’ve really fallen in love with WagAware and wanted to share a little bit about the company. Have you heard about it? It’s a charitable organization committed to helping raise awareness (and funding) for pets in need. They donate 50% of their profits to homeless dogs in shelters, rescue organizations, and animal welfare groups … and really, what’s not pawesome about that? WagAware manufactures and sells a really cute dog tag that (much like our collars) looks great on dogs of all shapes and sizes! You’ve no doubt seen their charms on dogs at the park … those furry, four-legged brand ambassadors are helping to promote and support a better life for every dog in need, and you should too! Let’s be honest … dogs are amazing. Little ones, big ones, hairy ones … even those really slobbery snuggle bugs that chew on your shoes and shed everywhere. If you’re anything like us, you’ve never met a dog you didn’t like!
From time to time though, we meet some extra special furbabies. You know the ones … everything brings them joy, usually because they struggled through a rough start in life. Dogs like Chester, this abandoned cutie pie and countless other little heartbreakers who are lucky enough to find forever homes. No doubt about it: these dogs ALWAYS brighten our day. Well hello hello! It’s been far too long since we’ve updated our blog, but that’s because we’ve been terribly busy behind the scenes building this beautiful new website!
Okay … to be fair, the human in charge did it, but we definitely helped. And by “help” we mean bark. Everyone knows more barking makes everything better, right? Continue Reading ->
Do we make good pets? Are you serious? OF COURSE WE DO!
Okay, admittedly, we’re a little biased – ZigZag Wags was founded by two Chihuahuas … well, and our human (but truthfully, we only included her because she had treats). Bella and I have seen plenty of posts out there talking about why Chihuahuas make great pets, but we’ve seen just as many about why our breed has a not-so-great reputation in the public. We thought it was time to clear things up, and who better to talk to you about what it’s like to own a spunky chi than two, 4-legged experts on the subject?
Let’s be honest, seasonal allergies in dogs are NOT pawesome! And no, as much as we’d like to believe treats could solve the problem, they won’t … unless maybe your dog REALLY likes Benadryl. That said, more treats do sound like a good idea, don’t you think?
It’s official: the holiday season is in full swing! We’ve had an unbelievable first year, and as a thank you for all the love you’ve shown us (despite our terrible blogging habits), Bella and Jake wanted to give away some ZigZag Swag! Continue Reading ->
Although Halloween usually hogs the spotlight in October, it’s a very special month for an entirely different reason. October is recognized as the official “Adopt a Shelter Dog month.” National organizations like the American Humane Association and the ASPCA, and even pawesome retailers like Kong are all helping to spread the word. So, although Halloween is pretty fun, we think all the candy and costumes are WAY better when you have a rescue dog to share them with … the good times, that is … not the candy (chocolate is toxic to dogs).
